Julius Möller

Victim | 10 October 1884 | Missionary

Stationed in Sipoholon (Sumatra) as missionary with the Rheinischen Mission.

Dr Julius Möller's name is mentioned in Gottlob Weiler's Der Untergang der Van Imhoff - ein Augenzaugenbericht. Evangelischer Missionsverlag, GmbH, Stuttgart, 1953.

He is the great-grandfather (Urgrossvater) of Georg Steinberg, who got inspired by his ancestor to publish copies of tens of key authentic documents from German and Dutch archives: letters, cables, eyewitness accounts (ref timeline 2017 and 2018).

This resulted in "Die Versenkung der Van Imhoff am 19. Januar 1942 - Augenzeugenberichte deutscher Überlebender" Herbert Utz Verlag, München 2018.

Steinberg's family members recall with pride and respect that Julius did not claim a place in the overcrowded boat at open sea.
