Born in 1880, Bingen, Provinz Rheinhessen. 1914: Corporal in the 3rd Sea Bataillon in Tsingtao. In November 1914 imprisoned in the Marugame camp in Japan with prisoner number *#1931, later moved to the Bando camp. Released in December 1919

In 1922 he settles in the Bekassiweg (Bekasih Road) #4, in the Batavia suburb of Meester Cornelis, Batavia. In 1935 he lives opposite opposite the Kramat railway station in Central Batavia.

In 1940 he retires as stores manager.
