Born in May 1890 in Fulerum, Kreis Mülheim/Ruhr, Rheinland province, Essen 1890.
In August 1914 mobilized in the Tsingtao militia. August 1914: Corporal in the 1st Company of the 3rd Sea Bataillon. Ended up in a military field hospital. Active duty resumed on 11 August 1914.
Interned in November 1914 in the Kume camp in Japan with number 669. States Essen as home address. Released in 1919 and migrated to NEI.
1922: Police inspector 2nd class in Wates, Yogyakarta, later posted in Wlingi, Blitar. 1935: promoted to police inspector 1st class in Surabaya. 1940: stationed in Ambon where he was arrested.
He was married to Hendrika Lenzen. They had two children: Jan and Johanna Margaretha. Became widowed.
Deported with the Van Imhoff. Drowned.
